Hi everyone, my name is Ariana Strange. I design and make all of these pieces by hand. I was born and raised in Decatur, GA. I'm 26 years old and I started making jewelry when I was around 7. I remember one day after school on the playground waiting to be picked up. I'd picked bunches of these little pretty white flowers that grew on the field and found a way to link them together to make these cute little bracelets and necklaces. I set up shop in the small wooden shelter-like part of the jungle gym. There wasn't much light coming in, but I was used to reading books in the dark so there was more than enough for me to see. I must have zoned out because before I knew it, it was dark. I was the only one left on the playground, surrounded by all these cute little pieces of jewelry I'd made. I left everything there, it was all so delicate and starting to wilt, and I started walking back towards the school. One of the school aftercare workers saw me and came running out saying, "They didn't know I was out there!" and "They were just about to leave for the day." I was totally fine. That was the first time I got in the jewelry making flow.

In 2015 I was living in Clarksville, TN. It was pretty boring and there wasn't much to do so I spent a lot of time on Pinterest. I came across these really pretty necklaces, and then a diagram tutorial on how to make one of them. It looked complicated but I gave it a shot and the necklace turned out great! I'd never made anything that pretty and I was so excited! I started buying different colored beads and trying out new styles, and before I knew it I was coming up with all new designs. 

I started Strange Acquisitions in 2019. Up until that point I'd been making jewelry for fun and giving it away as gifts to friends and family. It took a few trials to get the perfect combination of methods and materials to put together a piece that was sure to last, but we figured it out. I'm proud to say that I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my work. 

In 2020 I created the ladder back closure. This is our patent-pending way to make beaded jewelry adjustable to different lengths without interrupting the pattern in the back.

We pride ourselves in being very unique, and we strive to create quality pieces that’ll last a lifetime. Many describe our jewelry as something they've never seen anything like before. The styles and colors used in our work are sure to stand out on anyone, regardless of age, space, or time period!
